Epiphany: sudden intuitive insight into reality or the essential meaning of something not previously known. Deep huh? So how far is an epiphany away from an hallelujah? I’ll take an educated guess or a decent try. One is biblical and one is affirmation. Class dismissed on the definitions. But I will look at some examples throughout life. Throughout mans existence he has learned to adapt. Be it 6000 years or longer we have learned to fight for survival or die trying, to not give up. We have learned that if you didn’t feed yourself, keep yourself warm and fight off disease and sickness is an epiphany - and whoever taught us how to do these things was our hallelujah. So whether you believe in creation or evolution, the argument won’t be settled at least wont be settled here and now. I had a dream I was walking in the shadow of death and I did fear evil and the dark. The voices coming from the dark were vile and tormenting as I walked through, telling me to give up and submit to despair. Even though I fell to my knees, I realized that although I was crawling, I was still moving and the dark was just a metaphor for my pain and suffering and that was an epiphany. Waking up and being able to see the light you searched for all night to reach is your hallelujah. Let’s discuss friendship. How many of us have them or are they just around to watch and assist you in failure so they can feel better about themselves as long as they are doing better than you. The people who do this don’t have your best interest in mind. They infect you with insecurity and laugh as you struggle through trials and tribulation heart ache and pain. But you don’t need them. Your life wouldn’t be much without discord and challenge. You don’t have to entertain anyone with your personal pain. it’s yours to conquer on your terms. Knowing you have a choice in friends is an epiphany, knowing there are angels who walk the earth and you may just have one as a true friend is your hallelujah. We have recently been hit with so many disasters it seems Mother Nature is sending a wake up call to her tenants. Maybe we should listen to her warnings and take care of this place she has so graciously allowed us to live in . We take and take through logging, over fishing, greenhouse gases - and what’s our answer if things get too bad? Bail this planet and move to Mars! Well, maybe Father Mars sent us here cause we jacked his planet up, well the martians did. But maybe this is the circle of life on a galactic scale. We have to take care of an ailing celestial body that is 4.5 billion years old, and that has taken a pounding just to preserve life who ever the current tenants are. Knowing that the planet can take back the very life she shelters is an epiphany, knowing she can start anew with a totally different species will be their hallelujah
